Dear Friends,
Warmest Christmas greetings to you.
As the year 2009 is coming to a close, it is a joy to look back and realize how
His grace has been at work in our lives and ministry.
The more we walk the journey, the more we realize how inadequate we are;
as how Paul expressed in 2 Corinthians 4; painting a vivid picutre about
the jar of clay.
Ajith Fernando said in his book: Jesus Driven Ministry
"God loves to use jar of clay". We always find comfort in Ajith's wise sayings.
Yes, we are jars of clay, but we can always rejoice because we are here to
demonstrate that the all surpassing power is not from us, but from God.
Please share our joy as we count His blessings.
1. Kairos completed std one, and is looking forward to std two. He actually finds
school interesting :)
2. We experience His timely providence again and again.
3. We celebrated our 13th marriage anniversary in oct.
4. WErn's first book was published in September.
5. WErn has been writing for a column on Mission in WenQiao (a Christian magazine) for more
than 2 years. His writings will be compiled into a book probably by end of 2009. That will be
his second book.
6.. Smooth transition for both of us into new ministry with the Cn field.
7. WErn's trips to Cn have been without much hindrance, except once that he was asked to
open his luggage when he went through the immigration. The officer went through the
teaching materials and books, but let him go. Praise God.
8. We learn to appreciate more our time of being together because of WErn's frequent trips.
We are drawn us closer as a family.
9. WAi has completed another year of study in counselling, and she has had opportunities
to put in practice her skills in a church planting situation at Serendah.
10 WErn has completed seven papers on a post graduate study in missiology. 2 more
papers, and a dissertation to go.
Prayers
1. WErn is leaving for cn again early jan and will be back on the 23rd jan. He is leaving again
on the 22rd Feb. Please pray for his safety and works to be done.
2. An alumni association was formed for the graduates of the seminary in NW cn. WErn is the
advisor to the alumni. Pray for wisdom as he guides the alumni body.
3. The seminary at NW is planning to purchase a property. Pray that God
to provide the funds needed.
4. WAi's ministry at Serendah will be fruitful. There were young people and families who just
came to faith recently. Pray that they will mature in their faith day by day.
Thank you. Please let us know your needs too.
In Him,
WErn, WAi, Kairos
